Birdwalk Report 10/8/11

San Jose Creek ("Camp Lobos")
Leader: Robert Horn

Through special arrangement with California State Parks and current landholders, this Audubon outing was granted access to explore areas currently not designated for public use. This outing was with special permission from the California State Parks. We explored the habitat that runs from Monastery Beach up the creek into a beautiful coastal canyon. Habitat included coastal chaparral, riparian and redwood forest.

Trip Report

Trip-goer Don Glasco reported as follows:

"Beautiful small coastal valley with perennial stream and very mixed habitat (riverine, redwoods, willows, grass paddocks, chapparal on slopes).

Nothing rare or unusal. Bird of day was a Great Horned Owl watching us watching it."
